We had Cait's follow-up appt. at the ENT yesterday. Her ears were actually fine - no infection or fluid. The removed some big chunks of wax - which she did not appreciate much. Poor baby did not like being at the Dr. at all! Then they checked her hearing which turned out wonderful. The whole process of checking a 1 year olds hearing was amazing to me - I sat in a enclosed room with her and an audiologist. There was another audiologist outside the room that would make noises through speakers and they would read her body language and watch where she looked to determine if she heard what was going on. But, I am very glad that the hearin turned out good - I was worried that the chronic infections would have an effect on it.
After all that we saw the Dr. and he gave us the choice to do tubes or not to do tubes. We chose to go ahead and do them since we were tired of her being in pain over and over again and we think it is the best for her. So, July 11th it is at the a Cardinal Glennon satelitte hospital!
